Riley: Nautilus

Original, hand-painted in gouache on acid-free watercolor paper.

Part of the Artist & Animal Series, this nautilus was painted in the style of Bridget Riley.  Riley hand-painted, large scale hypnotic black and white patterned images that created optical illusions.  The patterns on the shell and the tentacles were reminiscent of her designs.
