Sitting Pretty

Original, hand painted on paper in gouache.

Plants in the Sierra Nevada mountain range bloom late and the butterflies take advantage of the rich nectar.  The rich dark geometric patterns in the background contrast with the the greens and yellows of the plant and butterfly.  The lively pink outlines match the quick movements of butterfly and that will create a lively focal point in any room.
